The World School Games Olympia 2026 was held in Doha, Qatar, from 29 January to 31 January 2026, marking the inaugural edition of this prestigious global sporting event. Over three exciting days, 1,200 students from 20 schools, representing 68 nationalities, competed in the Under-11 category, showcasing talent, sportsmanship, and international unity.

St Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, proudly represented Nigeria in the U-11 category, building on our remarkable legacy of excellence, having previously won the World School Games on three occasions. At this historic first World School Games Olympia, St Saviour’s School rose to the occasion and emerged as the overall champions, becoming the first school ever to win the World School Games Olympia.

Sports Played: Athletics Football and swimming Medals won; Athletics girls- 5 gold, 3 sliver, 1 bronze ( Athletics: 6 Gold 6 Sliver 1 Bronze) Athletics boys- 1 gold, 3 sliver 1 bronze Swimming girls: 1 gold 1 bronze ( Swimming : 3 Gold 2 Bronze) Swimming boys: 2 gold, 1 bronze Football girls- Gold (winner overall)

This victory adds to an extraordinary record of seven COBIS Games victories, all achieved within the past ten years. More than medals and trophies, this year’s success was a powerful reflection of character. Our pupils, staff, and parents demonstrated resilience, discipline, determination, and self-motivation, proving themselves outstanding ambassadors for both the school and the country.
