St Saviour’s School, Ikoyi proudly hosted its maiden Chess Tournament on 23 November 2025, marking an important milestone in the school’s commitment to intellectual development, strategic thinking, and healthy competition among pupils.

The tournament brought together young chess enthusiasts who demonstrated focus, patience, and problem-solving skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Designed to nurture logical reasoning and confidence, the competition provided pupils with the opportunity to apply their chess knowledge while engaging positively with peers.

To ensure fair play and age-appropriate competition, participants were grouped into the following categories: 6 years and under (Early Years), 7–8 years, 9–11 years

Each category competed independently, allowing pupils to play against peers within their age range while building sportsmanship and resilience. The event was well attended and warmly supported by staff and parents, contributing to its overall success.
